Beltane

Please join us for our annual festival of May sponsored by Motor City Pagans.
Crafts provided for kids by The Circle of the Sacred Hearth.

Please arrive no sooner than 5pm

6pm Constructing the Maypole. (It's already cut and ready for us to decorate)
7pm Maypole Dance
8:42pm (sunset) Fire Lighting ceremony
9pm Begin rite in honor of Aphrodite

Please bring a dish to pass. Please provide a list of ingredients for those of us on special diets.

We will be invoking Aphrodite at Her rite, and you never know what she's going to say, so parental discression is advised.
The Ritual to Aphrodite will be done in Neo-Hellenic style. Please be sure you are wearing clean clothes and have bathed since the last time you had sex or were in a sick room. (We will not be asking, that's between you and the Goddess.) Feel free to bring an offering and drums or rattles to help us establish sacred space. (And if we feel like it later on, we could evolve into a drum circle.)

Please let us know in your RSVP which parts you are planning to come for.

Additional activities (for downtimes) to include, making flower wreaths and animal masks, divination (bring your favorite divination tools), plant identification tours.
