Merry Meet. Hubby & I moved here 5 yrs ago from Ft. Worth TX where we were very active. . We've been to some Pagan events, moon circles, etc. in Orlando, Cassadega, New Smyrna Beach, etc but prefer groups here in Titusville. with gas prices rising.Dee is 61, I, Gypsy 63. Friends of all ages from 24-80. Both Leos. Also, into Harley biker world! Both with long hair, tattoos, piercings. Into Pagan, Indian flute, drum. classic rock music. Belly dance, drum circles, meditation, Tarot cards, historical places, live full time in 5th wheel RV. I've been involved in old witchcraft ways prior to Wicca since 12! In Texas, I taught women's classes, readings, did lectures at a university. worked with news media on truths of our beliefs. We are NOT into drug scene & light, social drinkers. Semi retired. Dee is Navy Vet. Both Democrats. Seek small group of like minded..pagan/biker/family oriented types. I am mother to a 42 yr old daughter in Orlando. Granny to 22 yr old grandson, 12 yr old grand daughter. My beloved mom was born/raised in England. I lived there awhile as a child and celtic ways were a daily part of our lives. Stories of fairy rings, goddesses, magical places, castles, etc since a child.
My goal in life has been to teach simple ways & have also fought hard for women's rights. I am the ggg niece of Susan B. Anthony, Dad's side. I take voting seriously. I am outgoing, honest, blunt, to the point type gal. Triple Leo. I do not play mind games. I've spent my life trying to present a positive image of Paganism. I've met with priests & ministers to help educate them on history, more understanding of our ways in an effort to cut down on prejudice & misunderstandings from narrow minded bigots. I work out almost daily at Parrish Fitness & Health Center, Titusville. Love it. I meet interesting people, met only 2 Pagans there in past 4 yrs! I'd like to see more Pagans get involved in community charitable work to also help the often negative image of Pagans outsiders tend to believe. via movies, news media, uneducated preachers, etc. We often take bags of food to the local food bank. We help elderly people when they're sick or need a ride to Parrish Hospital. We've provided a small Thanksgiving dinner or Xmas for a poor family with kids. We donate to SPCA to help keep the no kill shelter alive for animals. Dropping off a bag of cat or dog food helps a lot. Or, discards donated to the SPCA Thrift store where they sell items cheap, helps people on budgets, the money helps feed & give Vet care to dogs, cats in shelter in town. We give whenever possible and we do this on a limited income. We're on Social Security. hubby is Navy Vet amputee, had to go on disability 5 yrs ago. We live simple. Tight budget. But still try to GIVE if we have $5 to spare to help others in need. This should be a part of the PAGAN WAY. I do not have to "shout out" I am Pagan. I don't wear outlandish clothes or jewelry. Mostly Harley biker clothes, silver/turquoise jewelry, crystal. I am comfortable in my own skin, know who I am, my purpose in life. I'd rather blend in, get along with all types people. With time, maturity, experience, wisdoms, 1 learns that non Pagans trust a person that seems "NORMAL" TO THEM & with trust, they then do not fear or disapprove of one's Pagan beliefs...because they already know & accept a decent. logical, dependable, positive minded, giving person anyway! Good approach for newbies afraid to tell their Christian families. friends, etc they are Pagan. The first step is gaining trust and respect before ever coming out...as Pagan. I've written articles over the yrs about "how to present one's self as Pagan" & be safe & respected. ANY COMMENTS ANYONE??? BB, Gypsy in Titusville, Florida |
